The Kavil story
From one coffee shop to 700+ locations
- 2020The idea
Two young men, Andrii and Oleksandr, start building Kavil: a coffee shop that doesn’t need a barista.
- 2022The first coffee shop
We raised the money ourselves: we borrowed from family and sold our own belongings. We set up the first coffee shop for ourselves.
- 2022Blackouts
Two months later the power cuts began. The location stood idle for almost a year, and we nearly closed the business.
- 2023The first buyer
We found our first buyer through an ad on OLX. After that, sales took off.

We open our first locations in Poland, Austria and Germany and launch the outdoor format.

How much does a self-service coffee shop cost?
A turnkey indoor coffee shop costs from €5 000; outdoor: price on request. Installation across Poland is extra: €200. We sign the contract before you pay, and there are 0 royalties.
How do I open a self-service coffee shop?
Leave a request and we’ll calculate the payback period for your city and show you the coffee shop on Zoom. Then we sign the contract and you make the prepayment. It takes up to 30 days from prepayment to the first cup: in that time we build your coffee shop, help you set up your bank account and card terminal, then deliver and install everything.
How much can I earn, and what is the payback period?
We calculate the payback period and profit for each specific site: they depend on footfall, drink prices, the equipment package and operating costs. We’ll work through your own scenario in a personal calculation, and you can see real partner figures in the case studies.
What are the monthly costs?
0 royalties. Each month you pay rent (depends on the site), taxes and the bank’s fee for card payments.
Are there any royalties?
No, 0 royalties. A royalty is a monthly percentage of your sales paid to the franchisor. With Kavil you buy the equipment, and the business is entirely yours.
How does payment work?
We sign the contract before you pay. After signing, you make the prepayment and pay the rest at installation. Site search (optional; price on request) is paid only after you sign the lease with the landlord.
What if the location doesn’t work out?
We analyse sales and look at relocating. If you change your mind or the location doesn’t work out, we buy back the equipment at 60% of its value; the terms are in the contract. The equipment comes with a warranty, and its period is written into the contract.
Who finds the site?
We do, together with you: we analyse footfall and negotiate with the landlord. The service costs price on request. You pay only once you’ve chosen a site you like and signed a lease with the landlord. No prepayment.
Do I need experience?
No experience needed: we train you from scratch, and a personal manager supports you from the day you sign the contract. Servicing takes 15 minutes every 2–3 days: top up the ingredients and collect the takings. You can combine it with your main job.
